1. Wood Vanities

One of the latest bathroom design trends that we're seeing is a move toward wood vanities rather than painted ones.

Wood adds warmth to a bathroom renovation and creates a natural look that complements many different shades. Wood vanities come in a variety of finishes, from light and airy to dark and moody, allowing for a range of design options.

2. Natural Light

Another popular bathroom design trend that we've seen in recent years is the use of natural light whenever possible.

Natural light can make a small bathroom and floor tile feel more spacious. Remember, getting morning light is one the best ways to start your day!

Enhanced natural light can be achieved through the use of larger windows or skylights where possible.

3. Natural & Earthy Color Palettes

Natural and earthy color palettes have been a popular trend in bathroom design for some time, and this trend is set to continue in the coming years.

These neutral colors create a relaxing and serene atmosphere in the bathroom, which can be especially beneficial for those looking to unwind after a long day.

From beige and green to grays and browns, there are many earthy tones to give you the calm and relaxing feeling you are looking for.

4. Minimalist Mirrors

These mirrors are characterized by their lack of a large, cumbersome frame and have a simple, sleek aesthetic.

Minimalist mirrors are an excellent choice for small bathrooms, as they can help create the illusion of a larger space. A minimalist bathroom vanity also works well in bathrooms with bold design elements, as it provides a simple and understated counterpoint.

5. Colorful Concrete Sinks

While concrete may seem like a departure from usual materials, such as porcelain or ceramic, it makes for a terrific accent piece when designed with a bright, vivid color.

Concrete sinks are known for their durability and versatility, and they come in a range of colors and finishes that can complement a variety of design styles.

6. Antique Light Fixtures

Antique fixtures add character and charm to any bathroom, and they can work well with a variety of design styles.

Antique fixtures can include chandeliers, sconces, and pendant lights, and they come in a range of materials, from brass and bronze to crystal and glass.

While there are fixtures commercially available that have a synthetically weathered appearance, finding that diamond in the rough fixture from an antique store or estate sale can give your space a very personal touch.

7. Limewash Paint

Limewash paint is a unique and eco-friendly paint option that has grown in popularity. Easily noticeable by its textured pattern, limewash paint is set to become more popular as time goes by.

This paint also has a range of benefits, including air purification, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, and the ability to help remove odors from the air (perfect for shower walls).

8. Floating Shower Bench

When it comes to designing the inside of your shower, you don’t have to sacrifice style for safety.

When installed correctly, a floating shower bench is an incredibly durable and safe way to add a seat to your shower space.

Of all the popular shower trends, this is one of the more minimalist approaches that add both functionality and style to your bathroom - perfectly positioned in line with your shower head.

9. Horizontal Shower Niche

Shower niches are recessed into the wall of your shower which gives you a great design and a practical space to store your shower products.

The horizontal orientation of the niche offers a sleek and modern look that can complement a variety of bathroom styles.

Horizontal niches also create a streamlined look, as they eliminate the need for bulky shower caddies or hanging baskets.

10. Open Layout Design

It shouldn’t be a surprise that the open layout craze that’s so popular on HGTV has impacted how bathrooms are designed.

An open-layout bathroom floor plan is a tremendous way to make your bathroom space feel much larger.

One key feature of an open-layout bathroom is a static shower panel with no door. This panel creates a barrier between the shower area and the rest of the bathroom, while still maintaining an open and airy feel.

Another optional feature that is highly recommended is a freestanding tub. An open-concept bathroom will give you a space to get away and unwind at the end of a long day.
