How Much Does a Kitchen Remodel Cost in Lansing, Michigan?
Collecting price information from different sources is a good practice before starting any home remodeling project. Although every kitchen remodel is unique this article will provide helpful information for assembling a realistic (and preliminary) budget.
Giving exact pricing for a kitchen remodel is not possible without the design process. However, we have remodeled dozens of kitchens in many different configurations in the Lansing area for over 15 years so we can give a price range for the average kitchen remodel based on our sample size.
The average price of a 100 - 400 sq ft kitchen can range between$50,000 and $120,000.
This is a large range but it is important to note that there are many pricing factors involved that heavily influence what the average kitchen can cost. This includes size, quality of remodeling fixtures, change in layout, and addition of new elements.
Factors That Will Influence the Cost
There are a variety of factors that will influence the cost of your kitchen remodel project. Some of the factors that will influence the cost are:
Size of the Kitchen
This will be a large influence on the price. As the size goes up, the price goes up because it will increase the materials used and the time to complete the remodel.
Larger kitchen renovations whose shaped layout involves completely replacing a single wall of cabinets, will drive up cabinet costs. In contrast, smaller remodels like cabinet knob replacements will result in lower price ranges.
Quality of Different Remodeling Elements
For your specific kitchen remodel, you have the choice to select the quality of fixtures you want to be included. This will heavily influence the cost of your remodel.
From kitchen islands to custom cabinetry, each element contributes unique cost ranges depending on your preference. For instance, outfitting existing cabinets with storage space options will yield more budget-friendly quotes. On the other hand, large kitchen makeovers such as complete range and oven overhauls will result in higher labor costs.
Add New Appliances to Your Remodel
Planning a kitchen remodel with new appliances is a great way to top off a renovation. The prices provided do not include new appliances which increase the average cost ranges. For instance, some energy efficient technologies such as smart lighting and refrigerators will vary in price based on their manufacturers.
Change in Original Kitchen Design
Changing the layout to include different kitchen elements not previously present will influence the cost. This will result in changes to the plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and framing. Changing the layout will also introduce inspections to the kitchen remodel which will increase lead-time.
The Average Price for Different-Sized Kitchens
As stated above, the size and level of kitchen remodel will heavily influence your kitchen to remodel cost. Provided are the average costs for different kitchen remodels, as well as what is included in the price for each pricing option.
